My name is Abbi Beckett. I'm glad you're here.
I'm a mom, a wife, a follower of Jesus, and I happen to be a graphic designer.
Since I was a little girl, I have always wanted to be an artist. I preferred coloring over playing with Barbies. Two of my favorite gifts growing up were a wooden art set full of all the supplies I could need and my first DSLR Nikon camera. I used to ride in the back of our car and look out the window while trying to guess what colors you'd have to mix to paint the clouds. One thing I hope my kids inherit from me is an admiration for a beautiful sunset.
When I was in high school, I took some art classes. I also took journalism classes, and I fell in love with Adobe InDesign as I laid out the school paper each week. I loved the clean gutters and margins around the columns of text and the art of filling the pages with varying lengths of copy. I continued to learn and grow into my technical design skills throughout college, and while I was majoring in advertising and public relations, I realized that the creative side of the work was more where I belonged.
In my time spent creating professionally and personally over the years, I've continued to teach myself and learn new techniques. The thought of creating materials within an established brand excites me because it lends a degree of predictability while still giving creative freedom within individual projects.
Thanks for being here and taking the time to check out my work. If you're interested in working together, shoot me a message on the CONTACT page.
